Local history walks

A series of five walks have been described in the Bowburn Interchange, a community newspaper produced by Bowburn Village Celebration (BVC).

The articles are reproduced here with BVC’s permission. Please see links below:

For one more extended walk starting and finishing at Bowburn, see Bill Gallon’s walk.

An on-line version of the definitive map of rights of way is also strongly recommended. See http://www.durham.gov.uk/definitivemap

Guided Walks

Members of Bowburn Local History Society have occasionally organised guided walks to be included in Durham County Council’s programme of guided walks. Information about many other walks of local history interest, throughout the county, can be found on that website.
