Bowburn LHS meetings 2020

All meetings are held in Bowburn Community Centre, starting at 7pm.

All welcome. Admission £3 includes tea or coffee.

Tuesday 10th March: Martin Roberts, former English Heritage Historic Buildings Inspector – Updating Pevsner’s “The Buildings of England”, including Old Durham, Coxhoe Hall and Christ the King Church, Bowburn

Tuesday 14th April: Lee Brownson, The Auckland Project – latest news about Auckland Castle, Mining Art Gallery, Faith Museum, Spanish Gallery and other features opened since Lee’s last visit

Tuesday 12th May: AGM and members’ evening – Family history? How and where people lived and worked locally? What are your local history interests?

Tuesday 9th June: Jack Turton, Coxhoe LHS – Asylum: Winterton in words and pictures

Tuesday 14th July: David Butler, Durham County Records Office – 'Great Pains and a Large Amount of Labour': the Building of Durham Viaduct
